A Little Bit About Us


Salted Pig was started as a small catering company, but it has become much more. We'd love to cook for you and give you a fantastic meal, but we'd much rather you learned something along the way. Cooking is a communal activity and takes on new meaning when there is discourse about what is being cooked and how.


I started my career as did most people in this industry, working in large hotels and doing the rounds. A nameless face, toiling away in the back. I later progressed to smaller restaurants where it was pretty much the same story. By no means was I looking to be famous or drift around the dinning room with my pressed coat, but I wanted to talk to the people who were eating what I slaved over. I wanted to know their honest opinion about it, I wanted to talk shop with them. The main problem with this was I lived in an area where, frankly, people couldn't care less about what is on their plates or who made it. Thankfully, after I moved to Chicago, I saw an opportunity to get face to face with my customers.


With Salted Pig I am able to create food that the client wants and add my own take on it. I can get excited about every dish and every menu.
